My Baseball Story

Shared Memories From

Dean Fortino

Hometown

Gilroy, California

I have been a big fan of baseball, as well as ballparks, for most of my recollected life. There are no words to describe entering the stadium, seeing the field, smelling the hot dogs, and watching batting practice underway.

Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I attended several games at both Candlestick Park and Pacific Bell/AT&T/Oracle Park. I was in attendance when the Giants won the National League pennants in 1989 (remember Will Clark’s Game 7-winning single?) and 2002 and was able to secure tickets to both 1989 and 2012 World Series.

Chasing ballparks has been one of my side hobbies for quite some time; Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, and the new Yankee Stadium have all been checked off. Total of 10 down, 20 to go!
