This hockey arena print is part of the architecture hockey arena print series by artist Brian D. Oakes. This is the first fan inspired hockey arena print I have done, paying homage to the Nassau Coliseum in it’s original exterior facade, lovingly known as “The Barn”. It features a raised ice view from the goalie’s corner, showing the original five retired jerseys of New York Islanders greats; as well as their championship banners hanging in the rafters. On the jumbotron is featured the New York Islanders players hoisting The Stanley Cup overhead. The lower left features an exterior view of Nassau Coliseum in it’s original facade, known as “The Barn”. Behind the coliseum, lighthouse representing the rich tradition of Long Islanders and as tribute to the alternate lighthouse logo. As part of my first-ever fan inspired concept, included on the Nassau Coliseum signage are fan inspired sketches, submitted to me on Twitter from Islanders Fans.
This hockey arena print is part of a mixed media process of digital sketch, painting and artist blueprint. Each piece features the stadium name and location in the lower right hand corner; Nassau Coliseum “The Barn”; Uniondale, New York.

Really love the sketch. I think you did a great job with it and I like the attention to detail. My one criticism would be that the pictures above the coliseum exterior feel kind of out of place, but other than that I think it’s awesome. Keep up the great work!

I purchased the Islanders Canvas Wrap for my son, who is 24 and a die-hard Islanders fan, to give to him for Christmas. My shopping experience was excellent and the purchase was seamless on your website. Also, there was fast shipping. You are very talented and create beautiful work.
I decided on the canvas wrap of The Barn because I thought it was so unique and different. Picturing myself at a game, I chose the angle as being seated to the left of the rink with the banners to the right and thought he would enjoy that view, as well. I had never seen anything like it.
