Father's Day Giveaway Winner

And The Winner Of The Father’s Day Giveaway Is…

Thank you so much to everyone who submitted a memory and photo on my Facebook page over the past month as part of my Father’s Day Giveaway. Reading all the submissions and looking at the photos, sports clearly has connected many of us with our fathers and I am fortunate to have been able to read them. I received more submissions than I expected, and I wish I had the time to create custom designed canvases for everyone.  It would have been impossible for me alone to try and pick a winner, so I enlisted the help of people closest in my life and removed myself from the voting process. There were 8 people who voted on the submissions, 4 family members and 4 friends, with a mix of men and women, aged 16 through 68. There were several memories that stood out and caught the attention of everyone, very touching and personal memories shared. Ultimately there was one submission that everyone felt captured the spirit of the giveaway, both in memory and photo. “I absolutely love this photo and the submission really pulled the heart strings” as one person put it, capturing the overall sentiment of the giveaway.

Congratulations Brad Carter

Bill & Brad Carter - Father's Day Giveaway Winner

“There’s no place my Dad loves to go more than to watch The Mariners at T-Mobile Park (Formerly Safeco Field). I was always into sports growing up but Pop didn’t have much time for it. As he was able to free up from his busy touring schedule he discovered how much he loved baseball and got into The Mariners almost as much as I was into The Seahawks. Baseball became a great way for us to bond not only as father & son, but as best friends.”

The Custom Design

Once Brad’s submission was voted as the winner I thought about how I could customize it to make it personal for his dad Bill. I noticed in the submission photo that his dad was wearing a hat that said “USAF VET”, which helped inspire this design. The jumboton features  an artistic rendering of the American flag, the United States Air Force logo and the name “Bill Carter”. I also added 6 United States Air Force Jets performing a flyover, forming the colors of the U.S. flag. Printed on the bottom edge of the canvas is words pulled from the entry; “Baseball became a great way for us to bond not only as father & son, but as best friends.”

"Baseball became a great way for us to bond not only as father & son, but as best friends."
